Agreed, though more for the reason of why would you exit in front of the guns that are providing you with covering fire?
That said, he got the tank second hand and ripping off/out doors & sponsons isn't worth the damage that that will cause to remedy the backwards positioning.

Gridlock occurred @ approx. 10:30, by 10:45 it hadn't improved and it was a work night so we called it a draw.
Aside from that, his Khornate Deathstar hit a Tactical combat squad, vaporized it, and summarily died in a hail of incoming fire from about half my army.
Oh, and the Harlequins were vaporized when Ahriman looked at them funny...
Vehicle side arcs never make much sense in 40K, but make much sense in Battletech.

ReplyDeleteI never understood why anyone would mount the LANDRAIDER guns in the rear instead of forward. The closet to the front, the better the arc and range...

Don't forget that they ARE Lascannons, thus the chance that the extra 2" of the guns being forward and beneficial is very low.

Its not "total tank war" when most of the tanks are Rhinos and Razorbacks.

I learned Saturday evening that 6 Thunderhammer Terminators tend to deal with such roadblocks rather well.
