Not too much much on the hobby from to report this time around. I've gotten a bunch of goodies in the mail here recently, but haven't had much time to even look at them (more on that below). One thing I did manage to assemble this week was my Forward observer. Despite the Quar having a radio in the Quar short film (which was my first exposure to the Quar), they don't make a model that has one. So I converted a heavy shotgun's gunner to look like he has a HAM radio to work as my forward observer. Its simple, but I rather like it!
The Bolt Action British list gets this guy for free, thus I had to have one! |
That aside, this past weekend, my folks were in town and we worked on remodeling my kitchen. It was exhausting though well worth it I think! Though they left out this morning to head back home, its still not done. I still need to paint the walls, add the molding, and trim up around the inside of the back door which we replaced yesterday.
The before and after, though in the before the ugly wall paper and loose linoleum had already been removed, whereas in the after, the tile still needs to be grouted and whatnot... |
Being a 91 year old house, it seemed that everything was out of square, and jury-rigged into place. Thus there were obstacles and issues at every turn! That and the combination of over exertion, the heat and humidity, and all of the dust of various types kicked up means that I got sick yesterday. I'm still not 100%, but am feeling better today (well, sorta) at least. Pretty sure the dust had a lot to do with it, as when I first blew my nose the other day, the snot that came out was almost black from all of the dust I had breathed in! eww...
I like the new feature on your blog reports: the snot viscosity and coloration update! Well done sir!
ReplyDeleteDidn't check viscosity, sorry. Will get that next time...
ReplyDeleteGuess you needed to do the Quar medic first?
ReplyDeleteIronically they just released that model after I made my last order.
