So, is everybody all castled up?

With walls so low, ya gotta wonder why I even bothered...

Good. Sorry to say that those fortified walls won't do any actual good, but at least they make you feel better.

My beloved Wolfy and I took the weekend off, spending it up in the mountains of North Carolina to celebrate our anniversary a little early (originally we were to see a now postponed show in Asheville). The ongoing zombie apocalypse made finding dinner a bit challenging, but we managed. With our actual anniversary a mere 10 days out, we figured movement restrictions would only be worse by then so kept our Airbnb reservation. We only came into contact with 1-person at a drive thru during the whole trip, so 'social distancing' was still achieved, lol.

Oi! Hoo yoo kallin' fugly?!?

It was an easy drive 1.5 hour drive, so after settling back in at home yesterday I gotta little bit of brush time in. I'd gotten the really rough/basic colors in on my new warboss  previously, and so added yet more color to bring him up to the next WIP stage going from 'fugly', now to 'still fugly'. He's slowly getting there though.

With rain forecasted for the next three days and the slow breakdown of civil society an on-going thing, odds are we'll stay hunkered down and I'll be able to work some more on Da Noo Masta Cheef!

  1. Still work work workin'. Actually more than normal, trying to keep our painters working and drawing a paycheck. Construction industry, bay-bee! Woooo!

No I don't feel great about it. No I don't feel awful about it? I feel resigned.

  2. The company I work for is part of the 'food chain' (staple foods' packaging aside, we also print the packaging for Clorox wipes among others) so we've been deemed 'essential' by homeland security. Fine by me, I didn't feel like filing for chapter 11 this month anyways. Luckily my cube is a fairly low traffic area.

I'm more worried about the Mrs. than myself with all of this crud out there, whereas I'm just slogging thru allergy hell as is normal.

  3. Stood down at home in U.K., awaiting call up for Covid response. Will get some painting done in meantime... I wonder if GW factories should be ‘essential’ as they keep us hobbyists sane... and everyone is looking for hobbies they can do from home right now.

  4. Well, I'm definitely working, retail management for the win. Also, that warboss is making me think Cable from X-Men ....

  5. @Siph: I have NO DOUBT that GW is lobbying the British government to be labeled as 'essential' lol! Sorry to hear that you're on an unwanted 'staycation' at home, luckily and unlike most folks, we do at least have minis to keep ourselves entertained...

@Kushial: Hey pal, shouldn't you be stocking those shelves right now?? Mom said your store was out of toilet paper again!

Will have to google cable and see what/who that is.

  6. I'm heading to work soon. I'm noon to 10pm today. We're putting 6 to 12 pallets of toilet paper and paper towels on the shelves every day somewhere between 10am and 3pm depending on when the truck arrives. I just wish we'd start running out of some hand soaps so I'd know people were washing their hands after all that butt wiping.
