The Coftyr have always been my favorites, and while I do like the new Crusader minis a bit more, there is surprisingly another Quar collector in the area! Neither of us have played the actual Quar gameto date however. He also likes the Crusaders, and has been concentrating on them. Thus is makes sense for me to field their arch rivals for my own force.
Previously I had these on 20mm bases, but I decided to rebase them on the standard 25mm bases now that I have the prospect of an opponent for my Quar. Previously, outside of games of Weird War II, I've only ever painted my quar for just the hell of it. I've always loved 'em, whereas my gamer buddies in Tennessee: not so much.
Anyways, these little dudes are done representing my first painted rhyfler squad in quite some time. I've been pondering different ideas for telling squads apart, but will likely just use the old stand by of painting the rims on their bases in different colors. Simple & easy, always the best way to go.
I don't know why, but every time I see the Quar I want to see an anteater shaped dog equivalent for a Quar officer like the English army officers and their dogs.
ReplyDeleteThere is a new mini that was previewed yesterday (for a different faction) that has a little dog-sized bug on his shoulder. That's the first small pet that I have seen. All of their other critters are fairly large.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean you don't love us so much? What did us Tennessee buddies do to you?!
ReplyDeleteI've always thought they were an interesting WW1 to between war optional force but just wasn't in the budget or fit anything I was working on army wise.
Delete@Neverness: I was referring to your disdain of '3rd party minatures' like the Quar, as noted by the fact that none of you had any interest in buying any for yourselves.
Delete@Kushial, as you know, my Quar, they fought valiantly on the battlefields of Bolt Action, against which I believe that you may have been one of their foes? The other guy here who collects them here doesn't come by the FLGS much, so likely Bolt Action is their most likely avenue for future game play.
ReplyDeleteScreech has also had a few Quar sightings in Nashville from what I hear.
