UTINNI!!

o/

It is time to start spamming the Insatiable Curiosity veteran ability which allows you to steal an enemy upgrade in close combat, while suffering an automatic wound as you do so.

So, I recently sold my Jawas because I bought a shitload more Jawas. I couldn't recall from whom I bought the original Jawas, and so when the new ones came in, the scale was way off. However, I ordered 24 and received about 30 of the little guys. Better yet, they're actually Ewok sized which is what I am proxying them as.

The slinger squad with their variety of crappy, cobbled together and stolen firearms.

The skirmisher squad is armed with tools rather than spears, pipe wrenches mostly.

As such, I sold the originals ones which more or less made the new ones damn near free! A very Jawa-like price tag (in terms of acquisition anyways). I now have enough to make a super-sized squad of skirmishers and slingers (I ran of bases which is why you don't see them all here).

Lacking an obvious leader model to represent Wicket, I made one. I present to you: Nick-it!

There are also a handful of unarmed Jawas for terrain/basing purposes. With the current allotment, I have enough to make a skirmish sized 'Bright Tree' army of Jawas. To that end, I think I'll paint Chewbacca's AT-ST the Jawa crewed AT-PT next, along with several unarmed Jawas to decorate its base.

The old Jawas were a head taller than the Ewoks.

Sherman V

 o/

Another model for a game that I don't play.

Early last week I played a game of BattleTech at the FLGS and afterwards decided to 'buy a toy'. However, nothing BattleTech was catching my fancy (the typical lance boxes where I only wanted 3 out of 4 mechs) and their stock of Legion was wiped out. Likewise, I recently stocked up on paint, so didn't need any of that.

Unlike my older North Africa themed vehicles, this Sherman is more reminiscent of the Italian campaign.

So, as you can see, I picked up this Sherman V for Bolt Action. Adding it to the universal carrier and Mk VI B, I now technically have a (very mismatched) armored platoon. Too bad I sold the Sikh platoon while I was still in Tennessee. Standard practice for painting a Sherman is to prime it OD green and call it a day. Unfortunately, I was out of that primer and so opted for a much paler shade of green.

Barring touch ups, the hull, turret & suspension are just Vallejo 'infantry' green primer.

The Sherman V was used extensively by the British and saw a lot of action in Italy. Rather than the usual OR Green Sherman, lighter shades of green and even some tan and/or tan camo schemes were used. So, this works out quite well actually. Hull aside, I painted the tracks, road wheels and a few details here and there, added decals, and lastly a good slathering in dust the wash to dirty it up (as usual) and called it complete.

It almost looks tan from this angle.

That was so easy that I could paint up a whole army of these (but I won't). My buddy Digger is jonesing to start up a Bolt Action league. As usual it is a game I really want to like but just find kinda meh. I suggested fielding Quar instead and got the meh response in return, followed by 'I can loan you an army you know...'. Am not too keen on that idea though.

...shrugs...

So, into the display case this went, undefeated on the field of battle.

Ruins

 o/

So uh...where's the fireplace?

The last of my 3D printed buildings is now complete. Unlike the others, this one took a while to paint. Sure, it is bigger and has several recessed areas, but my dumbass decided to paint a portion of the stones in varying shades of grey. The problem is that I needed to paint the corresponding interior side as well. Nonetheless, it came out well in the end I think and am pleased with it.

This piece could also be used for Bolt Action, or even Mordheim were I ever to play either of those games again (the former...possibly, the latter...sadly not a chance).

Almost looks undamaged from this angle.

The yellow paint on the picket fence along with the back wall of the above the stonework hint of happier times.

There's no door to the interior in this part, so may have been a covered porch, or garden perhaps?

Now I just need to take a pic of all of these pieces together to see what my Quar's potential future battlefield may look like. Speaking of, there is some minor movement on the Quar front locally. I've been posting pics on the FLGS' discord and have found two other people in the area who like the Quar and have some of their own. Fingers crossed I can give Clash of Rhyfles a try at some point.

This is the...airy side of the structure.

Open to the elements, there are all sorts of weeds and grasses growing between the floorboards. As you can see the roof is removable on this one too.

Not too detailed on the attic as all of the deep recesses were hard to reach.

Got wood?

 o/

lol I mean come on, what else would I name this post?

Not going to lie, it was very tempting to cover the whole top of the log with tufts to look it was covered in moss, just like I see in the woods all the time.

This is a piece of 3D printed scatter terrain that I got along with the houses of my two prior posts (the last piece from that purchase is still a work in progress). Nothing fancy, just a log and as you can see by the Coftyran MilitiaQuar below, it is the perfect size to provide cover. This would work well with my SWL Ewoks as well.

I have several of these guys in nonstandard colors that I will be mixing into my preexisting Quar militia. The remainder of my Coftyrans will be painted in the traditional Coftyran blue uniforms.

Note the E-tool scavenged from a grim dark universe.

Perfect place to hide.
