The Storm Wardens arrive!

o/

As you can see below, I received my box of little blue men on sprues this past Friday.

After counting them all up & leaving good feedback, the assembly line process began. This will be the first tactical squad with the silver helmed marine being the sergeant. Pretty boring really, but then again, pretty quick & easy to paint so far as well. As such, they're proceeding as intended. Amusingly, I saw several of these type of ML marines at the tournament that I went to yesterday. They were unpainted and screamingly bright amongst their Angels Sanguine brethren.

Speaking of that tournament...

Heh, my dice said 'No way buddy, not this time!' Indeed even my opponent Chad was apologizing for onslaught of ones & twos my dice were handing me by the second turn. Oh well, some damage was done before the game came to its inevitable conclusion. I managed to claim one of the three objectives at least. Of course, given that I was using the newly gifted Corsairs, and after the game I went to spend my gift card from winning the last time, no sympathy was to be had for me. So when I return there in 2 weeks there will be a Razorback waiting for me to pick up. In the end, I later heard (we had already left to & get some dinner) that Madival 's cheese whiz list split first place with the above mentioned Angels Sanguine, so congrats to him! That's 1st place tie #2 for the Tri-Cities guys!

I really like the Storm Wardens scheme -- very sharp.

Madival plays Necrons, right? Do I need to take mine away from my five year old and start playing them again?

OWWWWW! I don't even play Necrons and that hurt.

+1

Are you going to base the Storm Wardens to match the bases of your other armies?

@Necron Bob: Thanks man! (and btw, love the 'kids rules' you posted, though for reasons unknown, my browser wouldn't let me post that comment this morning)

Yes he does & please do. We'd Love to see some lists not based on gimmickery. My cousin was with us, and is a self described power gamer (though the army he had with him really didn't suit that moniker), and he was kinda pissed that he had to face that same Necron army 2 days in a row.

@Screech: I am good at offending people...

At least his spotless record is now blemished with a tie that only occurred as his last model with 1 wound left, hid from us for the last two turns so as to save getting tabled (KPs is what made that a tie).

@ Papa: Yup. Its the easiest way to do basing, which is why I do virtually all of my armies that way.

surprisingly, the list I ran was rather tame. I had full troops, doomsday arks, and 2 expensive overlords in their scooters. The cheesiest thing was mind shackle scarabs and solar pulse which I used to keep my doomsday arks alive . You shoulda seen the other necron. 4+ mind shackle scarabs, the same night fight , regular scarabs, msu units, two annihilation barges, the works.

I think this once again boils down to, what we each think is 'fun in 40k' is quite different & not very compatible.

I am coming to think Necrons may be the blue decks of warhammer. Things don't work against tgem, they don't punch terribly hard, and generally can throw a monkey wrench into any plan.

I've never played Magic, so have no idea what that really means. That said, like so many things in 40k, the solar pulses are rather situational. Odds are my IG could easily eat that list alive. My big IG's guns prefer not to be seen, much less need to see the enemy themselves. Unless of course my die rolls are anything like they were vs. Chad the other day...

One of the phrases is draw,go,lockdown. Pretty much it stops the phase that hurts the most. Necrons can stop almost any phase. Night fight for shooting, difficult terrain manipulation, massive inv saves and mind shackle scarabs for melee. Granted there are exceptions to this, but generally rough

Yeah & GK were unstoppable too, yet my IG debunked that myth...
