The (re)birth of a dreadnought...

o/

...yes, just a little over nine months of being submerged in the Simplegreen and I finally rescued my old dreadnought from its chemical grave. For those that don't recall (and that would be all of you), this is what I like to call the original resin dreadnought. For a recap of its history, click here.

Much better!
All ready for some plastic legs!

Originally, I had intended to clean this old dread up to join the ranks of my budding (now long-since-gone bust) Black Dragons army. However like so many things intended to serve the Imperium, the Alpha Legion stole, or rather is going to steal it.

Sure, sure, 30k's got all kinds of them new-fangled (but still supposedly ancient) alternate dreadnought types, but yes the plain old, standard issue Mk IV dreadnought that's in every marine army does have stats in 30k as well. And unlike Kushial who has TWENTY!?!?! dreadnoughts (seriously, WTF man?), this old wreck is the only one that I have.

Wellllllllll ...... It's 21 Dreads now that I got that old metal "Eddie" Dreadnought.

Kushial

Kushial's a double or nothing kind of guy, I'm sure he's just collecting them like baseball cards at this point, so why stop?

Also, I do remember this Dreadnought, and I always recall that it was a bad-ass. Why do I remember it being red? Was it a Red Corsair at some point?

The heavy bolters were red when it was wearing Blood Eagles colors, but otherwise no I didn't fight with the Red Corsairs to my recollection, only the Iron Hands and Silver Skulls.

nine months? Eventually I just give up and toss the old models!

Actually I forgot about it until my wife asked: "what's that thing in container of simplegreen in the cabinet?'

Haha, that sounds like something I'd do.

Btw, the squig I won from you, I re-purposed, and he is now holding the chain on the grot renegade knight! Thought you might like to know that! (he's back to active duty!)

I have only one (sonic) dread. And that pretty much by chance. Lovin' the fact that Mrs Chef reminded you nine months later. And I do vaugely remember this dread being mentioned before; but that might just be confirmation bias.

Got a pic of that squig you can point towards Greg?
