The distractions are legion but yes, I'm still puttering along on this little project. Its just about ready for the roof to be glued on, so figured it would be best to show the interior contents before they become shrouded in darkness. First up, the cargo side of the container:

Tucked away in back is an old, reclaimed bronze statue of some long forgotten Space Marine hero. Whilst not visible amongst the clutter, there are two large holes going partially into and one all the way thru this metal masterpiece! Clearly this was the work of
Next up we have a fuel drum, jerry cans, several boxes and crates no doubt filled with all sorts of essentials, and lastly two slightly used, but still serviceable bolters. Of course the 800lb gorilla in the container is the dented but apparently serviceable Exterminatus device (just in case things take a turn for the worst, and the container's owners want to add a good ol' fuck you to their glorious last stand.

On the other side of the partition is the cogitator array. It will control the still-to-be-added heavy stubber turret, as well as serving as a communications hub, data processing, downloading heretical yet so alluring Slaaneshi cultist pornography...

Moving on. Tucked in next to the cogitator is a small, worn container. It probably serves as a step stool when performing maintenance on the stubber turret above, or perhaps as a seat whilst um...enjoying, the above mentioned...um cultist, uh...propaganda...
lol, gluing on the roof is next, then taping off the exposed innards, followed by priming the exterior (whenever this arctic weather decides to go back home) and so on.

Man, when was the last time you cleared this thing out? The Age of Apostasy? There's more clutter in here than a Venerable Dreadnought's attic! Oh, wow. I don't think they even make these Bolters any more. You should take some of this stuff to Archeotech Roadshow. Might be worth something.
I always thought it was kind of weird that they called that thing an Exterminatus Device, when it's just tossed in with a bunch of other random stuff that's intended to be used as Objectives of more or less equal value. "Hmmm, which should we secure? The stasis pod with half a Genestealer in it, the Medicae Station, or the Exterminatus Device that could wipe out the entire planet? Decisions, decisions..." I usually consider it to be either a still-powerful but not apocalyptically so bomb, or some kind of capacitor or something.
The trimmed-off corners actually make that a really shitty transportation container now I think of it. You can't stack stuff on them, you can't brace stuff that's on the floor against the sides. Shit's gonna be falling and getting knocked around all over the place in there. Doesn't help that it tapers in around the doors, either. Sorta reminds me of trying to pack bookcases into my old boss's Honda Element.
Anyhow, stream of consciousness yammering aside, it looks good, and the text on the screens is just phenomenal. Looking forward to seeing it with the lid on.
@Siph: thanks! Its funny though, the blue screen of death hadn't occurred to me till you mentioned it, I was going for the greenish hue that you sometimes see with really old monitors, the only thing I had close in color was Hawk Turquoise though.

The exterminatus device was irresistible bitz purchase for this! To have something capable of killing the entire planet stuck in amongst the clutter is just comical. Hell, even if it was merely a tac. nuke, I could simply stand up at the FLGS' game night and announce to everyone present 'time to clean up, I just killed us all...'
As for the tapered corners/entry points of the container itself, yeah definitely design aesthetic over practicality there. I would imagine that filling these things (like just about everything else in the Imperium) would be a loathsome task. I did cheat on the monitor's test though. I'm sure you're aware that my hand isn't that steady (see the targeting screen for an example), its just decals, trimmed from the betrayal at Calth decals.
Oh, and yammer away! That's really I do on here anyways.
I could never get decals on so neatly, so that's still pretty damn impressive to me.
And yeah, there are some blogs where I'd never go on like that in the comments, but you've made a space here where that feels fine.
Brilliant stuff. The monitors are particularly impressive. Warfrog was showing me these cargo containers yesterday and their compatibility with the "railroad" crane-set that they released for Kill Team is astonishing. Apparently the guy who sculpted them has a Twitter feed where he discusses how he made all of these kits to be able to work with each other, it's brilliant stuff for sure!
This looks great! Don't glue the roof on, the contents are far too interesting and outrageous. Its high time you experimented with magnets.

He has a ton of great tips and tricks on there, plus re-tweets of people doing stuff with the kits that he never even thought of. Definitely worth a look if you're messing around with any of the 40K Terrain that's come out since early-mid 2017 or so.
@WestRider: Surprisingly, there was minimal need/use of usually excessive profanity when applying those decals. I'm thinking it was just a fluke. Also thanks! Yeah I don't get too serious on here (rage rants aside) and rather like when the comments carry on the conversation!

@MonkeyChukka: Ack! I glued it on just after finishing up the post. It is dark in there, kinda makes me wish I had the technical skill to use LEDs. I do use magnets on rare occasions, but the thought never occurred to me to use 'em on this :-(
