Hive Fleet Ouroboris arrives....

The Silver Drakes' enemy number 1!

Well sorta.

I hear the pitter patter of little feets...erm, claws.

Okay fine, so these little gribblies are the wrong color to be from Ouroboris, however...they are painted decently. Indeed their paint looks good enough to land themselves at the ass end of my painting queue (unless I get some sort of wild hair and feel like repainting up a few at some point).

I got these for cheap on ebay, along with a fair number of their brethren who are armed with non-Kill Team compatible weaponry (spike rifles and stranglewebs). However if you're wanting some of those, then you can buy them here

I don't like their straight tailed, current model brethren at all. Seriously, I can't tell a termagant from a hormagant these days. These minis are just better looking in my opinion, and with 2 Tyranid warriors (which I have yet to purchase) to keep 'em going forward, these'll make for a fun little kill team to run once in awhile.

Ouroboris Nids are going to look awesome fighting your Silver Drakes, and vice versa. What Hive Fleet Rules are you going to use for them, since GW left Ouroboris out of that part of the book?

I do like those old Gaunts, and if I had the cash available, I'd totally go in on that auction, but I like the new ones, too. In particular, when it comes to Hormagaunts, the old metal ones fell over way more often, and that's really saying something. I got a bunch from a guy who'd filled the bases with lead shot, and they still fall over all the time. They do look cooler, tho.

Oh the old hormagaunts were absolutely atrocious when it came to stability! An acquaintance of mine put his on the rectangular cavalry bases in order to keep em upright...most of the time.

As for the hive rules, I presume you're referring to 40k? Nope, not playing regular 40k with these. Waaaay too costly to even consider! Whereas there are no such rules for kill team aside from the D10 spoon-fed and totally randomized 'forging of a so-called narrative nonsense' which, after all of those D10 rolls, has absolutely no effect in-game whatsoever.

Still not sure why GW even bothered wasting so many pages with that stuff, its not like their player base lacks in imagination...

Curious, I wonder if you could just 'dip' these guys and call'em done? Ouroboris is a Hive Fleet I am ignorant about so I have no idea how close at all these things are to that scheme...just musing I guess...

Nurr. I actually completely spaced that KT doesn't use sub-Factions.

"Encounters with Ouroboris have revealed that the organisms spawned by this Hive Fleet contain cruder, primitive versions of common Tyranid bio-weapons and organs." The fact that you've gone for 2nd ed gribblies and are doing the arch villains for the Silver Drakes is brilliant. If you buy any Hunter Slayers I will hate you forever.

@Nevrness: I'm betting the KT rule book would have about 25% fewer pages if they left that nonsense out. Also the Tyranid artwork in the 1st pic is in the Ouroboris 'nid color scheme.

@Westrider: As opposed to my thinking that Primaris Sergeants can't have Stalker Bolt Rifles? Its more like: Touche!

@Monkey Chuka: Its more by accident than design, but I'll take the credit anyways! As for the Hunter slayers...but, but they would be perfect for 'specialists' except that they're kinda cost prohibitive, and well...you'd hate me forever and nobody wants that!
