What the hell?!?

Ammo explosion?

So, I was loading up my Bolt Action Americans that I simply cannot get interested in, to deliver to a buddy of mine who is aware of my apathetic view of the game and out of the blue offered to buy them last week. When, I opened my miniature display case, picked up my Chaffee and...the tracks were sitting in a puddle of goo.

Can't blame the Germans when the tank has yet to see battle...

After posting pics on my FLGS' discord along with the requisite WTF?!? It seems that the uncured resin in the cavities inside the turret released gases and not only leaked resin goo down thru the hull, but also popped apart the turret's top.

This much lubrication is not required...

Needless to say, after a future sojourn out in the sun to cure the innards, this tank will likely serve as terrain only. I bought this in September of 2022, painted it in November 2024, and last touched it in January of this year, meaning this happened sometime since then.

Oh and by the way Neverness, if the urge ever strikes me to take up Bolt Action again, there's always my beloved Quar...

How did it go three years without curing? Did you put some sort of magical enchanted clear coat on it?

Yeah that's the crazy part, the time delay. It was primed for at least half of that time period. I am told there was a sealed up void inside the turret that was never cured and ate away at itself. How this can happen was explained to me in detail last night.

The FLGS is a veritable resin mini/terrain printing factory and they cured it in a few minutes (now that the gooey guts were exposed). Digger (my buddy who bought it) was able to fix it up last night after our game and it looks servicable enough to use now. He'll probably add a bit more snow to the turret to cover up the repairs and call it a day.

That's a crazy situation. I have heard of this happening to printed resign models, but this is the first I have heard of this happening with a Warlord model.

No, this was a 3D print, not a Warlord model.

I have the same issue with a 2007 Reaver Gatling Blaster from FW - to this day there are two spots on the main body assembly that are sticky to the touch... its complety painted and has been displayed for years - maybe an afternoon in the sun is in order?

I sold some Star Wars legion 3d printed minis that had minor leaks in them as well. Honestly that is principally why I sold them, I just found it irritating.

Sitting it out in the sun may help, but then there are warpage concerns. I guess see if you can find someone who does resin printing, and see if they can cure it for you. Took the FLGS' to take care of it in just a few minutes since the uncured cavities were exposed.

So you're saying that they can fix the GW designers and accountants with a trip to a FLGS printing shop to cure their heads?
